Here's a great online tutorial we found that you can use to unlock your iPhone if you're using a Mac. It's been recently updated, so it should be fairly accurate, and it's important to know - as stated by the author of the iPhone hack - that this unlock iPhone tutorial will not work with any of the newer iPhones, only older iPhones that upgraded by accident.
This tutorial from winandmac.com looks incredibly easy - 19 steps in all, and well detailed with pictures.
