Minerva Industries, a US-based company, is suing: Apple, Research in Motion (the manufacturer of Blackberry), Motorola, AT&T Mobility, Samsung, Alltel Wireless and even more cellular companies for patent infringement. Minerva claims that they were the first to patent wireless internet and entertainment capabilities for mobile decices. This is a pretty broad claim, according to an anonymous attorney blogger, named Patent Troll Tracker. There are apparently over 32 columns of claims. That's a pretty steep amount, if you ask me.
This is not the first time that wireless companies have been sued recently. A patent-holding company, NTP, sued T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and Nextel in September 2007. They claimed a patent infringement relating to the delivery of e-mail to mobile devices.
