Loading ...It was announced this morning that Microsoft offered to buy Yahoo Inc. for a cool $44.6 BILLION dollars. Yesterday, Steve Jobs said that he was skeptical of the new Google Smartphone because "it's a lot harder than it looks" to creat a phone. It's pretty ironic that he said that the day before his company offered to buy Yahoo. Do you sense a rivalry here?
Yahoo shares have been down recently, so Microsoft is trying to get in on the action at the prime time. Yahoo still has not responded, other than to say that they are, "carefully and promptly" considering the offer. CEO of Microsoft, Steve Ballmer, said that he won't take no for an answer this time (Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo in the past).
He said, "This is a decision we have, and I have, thought long and hard about. We are confident it's the right path for Microsoft and Yahoo."
