New iPhone Game: Dactyl Video: Add NES Roms to iPod Touch/iPhone

When I think of studying in High School, I remember reading out of dusty, old textbooks and using a projector screen. Today's classroom is up and coming thanks to the iPod. In Aiken County, Georgia, they recently received a grant to buy iPods to incorporate into their classrooms. They received the grant from Public Education Partners, a Georgia-based non-profit.

Diane Mangiante, the executive director of PEP said, "It's enriching the curriculum. For example, if they're studying the civil rights movement, they can actually hear sound bites from someone who was there. It has much more of an impact than what comes from a book."

Too true. I can't recall many historical quotes, simply because the "wow factor" wasn't there with a simple textbook. Society today pushes people to embrace new technologies more and more. To keep up with TV and the internet, students need that same sort of "wow factor" at school. It's a harsh reality, whether we like it or not.
